Common Fouls & Misconduct
Fouls and misconduct are penalized with either a direct free kick, indirect free kick, or penalty kick. Some common fouls include:
- Careless, Reckless, or Excessive Force: Kicking, tripping, jumping at, charging, striking, pushing, or tackling an opponent.
- Holding: Impeding an opponent's movement with hands or body.
- Spitting: Spitting at an opponent is a sending-off offence.
Yellow Card (Caution): Given for unsporting behavior, dissent, persistent infringement, etc.
Red Card (Sending Off): Given for serious foul play, violent conduct, spitting, denying a goal-scoring opportunity, etc.
